Despite its consistent results, “Reading Rocks” and “Write Away!” didn’t come without challenges. Limited funding and lack of transportation were persistent hurdles. Still, the successes of these programs, as evidenced by five years of data, stir an engaging argument for the extension of these programs in other districts and for potential expansion into other areas, like maths and science.
Instead of rigidly enforced grammar rules and drills, the program takes a more immersive, child-centered approach.
