Change to from military time date and time format
Public Group active 3 years, 1 month agoWhile most people can easily work with it, it’s going to take a little bit of time to get used to it. Additionally, the abbreviated format of the 24-hour system makes it easier to send concise communications. When it comes to military drills and critical missions, the efficiency and accuracy of the 24-hour system can actually mean life or death. Military time is a way of measuring the time used by the military and other organizations that need to be precise about timekeeping. However, due to the International Date Line (middle of Pacific Ocean), there are actually three more zones created and many of the zones are not exactly an hour apart (as the Sun travels). But, somehow the system works as it is used mainly by ocean-going commerce vessels and the world’s Navies. The U.S. Military refers to this time zone as Zulu Time, and they attach the “Zulu” (Z) suffix, to ensure the time-zone referred to is clear. To avoid confusion, in these matters, the military uses the time in Greenwich, England, which is commonly called Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). The UK is not on Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) all year. During Daylight Saving Time the correct time zone is British Summer Time (BST). Military time uses an internationally agreed list of words provided by the NATO phonetic alphabet. President Joe Biden addressed veterans at Arlington National Cemetery outside Washington on Monday to mark the Memorial Day holiday… While each branch of the United States military has mixed forces, each one has a specific mission.
