The MKT should serve families well, but buyers may be interested in newer Lincolns coming down the pipeline, such as the all-new Aviator that ought to be available for sale this summer. In either configuration, all three rows are spacious and comfortable. The MKT is strictly a three-row SUV, but buyers can choose between a six- or seven-seat setup with the 2nd row available as either a three-across bench or dual captain’s chairs. The stepping around the Reserve model adds driver-assistance features such as adaptive cruise control, automated emergency braking, and forward-collision warning.
The MKT’s twin-turbo V-6 makes 365 horsepower and comes paired with a six-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. We haven’t tested an MKT since 2010 when the boosted V-6 made only 355 ponies; then it delivered good acceleration, though, and managed a 6.1-second zero-to-60-mph time. We particularly liked its three-mode adjustable suspension that improved its already commendable ride and handling.

IIHS gave the MKT the second-lowest Marginal rating for how well its headlights illuminate the street ahead and received the lowest Basic rating for frontal collision avoidance. The standard advanced and available safety features include adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, rear parking sensors, collision alert, windshield wipers, rearview camera, cross traffic alert, departure alert, and lane keeping assist.
The Lincoln MKT 2023 MKT is just a full-size 3-row luxury crossover SUV which was marketed by the Lincoln division of Ford Motor Company. Although the third-row seat is modest, cargo space is generous. The Lincoln MKT self-parking system exists as an option. A by-product of Lincoln’s size and soft ride, handling is clumsy. For the 2016 model year, Sync 3 replaced the much-maligned MyLincoln Touch. The 2019 model year was the MKT’s swan song; it had been replaced by the Lincoln Aviator. Overall, MKT rides well, is commendably quiet, and second-row legroom is abundant.
To replace with the dated design, Lincoln provides a long list of standard luxuries, including three-zone automatic climate control, a heated steering wheel with power adjustments, interior ambient lighting, in-dash navigation, Bridge of Weir leather upholstery, an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Lincoln’s latest Sync 3 software, a panoramic sunroof, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. The MKT was last updated in 2013 and its age is hard to conceal, Lincoln MKT 2023 especially in the cabin.
The company was established in 1917 by Henry Leland, an automotive parts manufacturer who had previously founded the Cadillac brand. The company quickly hit dire straits, however, and was bought by Ford Motor Company in 1922. Early Lincoln models include the L Series and the K Series. He named the company after his boyhood hero: the 16th U.S. president, Abraham Lincoln.

The car was a big hit for Lincoln; at one point, nearly 80 percent of all Lincolns sold were Zephyrs. The 1936 model year saw Lincoln‘s launch of the popular Zephyr. Lincoln had found its niche in the luxury-car segment by the 1930s, riding high with the likes of Cadillac as a purveyor of premium status-mobiles. The car’s name and styling were inspired by the sleek lines of the Burlington Zephyr, a diesel-powered express train that boasted record-setting speed.
