I’ve got a Discovery that I absolutely love, and I use it for what it’s designed for, regular trips out into the desert and the occasional weekend camping adventure. The thing is, all that off-road fun comes at a cost to the paint, pinstriping from bushes, fine scratches from sand, and just general wear and tear that makes the car look a lot rougher than it actually is. I’m considering getting it professionally detailed and maybe ceramic coated to protect the paint and make it easier to clean after my off-road trips, but I keep going back and forth on whether it’s actually worth it for a car that’s going to keep getting scratched anyway. On one hand, a good coating would make washing off the dust and mud so much easier, and it would offer some protection against those fine scratches, but on the other hand, I’m worried I’ll spend all that money and then the first trip into the desert will undo all the work. I work in the industrial area so I’m hoping to find a place that offers premium Land Rover detailing in Mussafah because I figure someone who knows these cars would understand the specific challenges of off-road use and can give me honest advice about what’s actually worth doing. Has anyone here had their off-road Land Rover detailed and coated and felt like it was money well spent? I’d really appreciate some honest opinions before I decide whether to go ahead with it.
