I’m genuinely frustrated right now. Bought a brand new battery for my 2016 Passat about fourteen months ago from a shop in Deira, and yesterday the car wouldn’t start at all – just clicking. Got a jump and drove straight back to the same shop, and the guy tested it and said “yes battery finished, need new one.” When I asked why it died so fast, he just shrugged and said “Dubai weather, what can you do.” But 14 months seems ridiculously short, even for here. I don’t leave lights on, I drive the car almost every day, and I park in shaded parking at work. A coworker mentioned that some Volkswagens have a known issue with the battery management system undercharging the battery if it’s not coded correctly after installation. I started looking into Volkswagen Battery Replacement Dubai options and noticed some places mention coding as part of the service while others don’t. Is that actually a real thing or am I being paranoid? Also, could something else be draining the battery that I should check before I just throw another new battery in and have the same problem next year? Really don’t want to keep buying batteries every year.
